  • Analyze emergency situations and develop emergency plans.
  • Design and deliver emergency management training exercises.
  • Practice dealing with the media, including writing press releases.

Outstanding career preparation

Through a combination of hands-on and theoretical learning, learn the skills and knowledge needed for disaster and emergency management within Canada and internationally. This program is beneficial for recent university and college graduates and for professionals working in related positions or looking to transition into this exciting field. Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR) is used to recognize the experience of working professionals.

Flexible and Innovative Learning Model

The program uses a flexible and innovative learning model based on evening classes and online learning. At the end of each semester, students apply their learning in a two-day practical workshop where they work with emergency management and business continuity professionals to design and deliver a training exercise (Semester 1) and develop a comprehensive program (Semester 2).
