Practical, hands-on experience
Working both in the classroom and in the shop, you'll get practical, hands-on experience in electrical fundamentals. In just eight months you can master the basic skills you need to become an electrical apprentice. It's the first step towards a career as a professional tradesperson – and there's no better place to start than Sheridan.
Your electrical apprenticeship
To prepare for an electrical apprenticeship, you'll gain instruction in:
- Application of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Electrical Theory
- Electrical Trade Safety
- Math fundamentals
- Commercial and residential building prints and standards
After earning your Electrical Techniques certificate, you can continue your education in related Electromechanical Technician and Technology programs at Sheridan. Advanced standing will be granted for equivalent courses.
Campus location change: New Skilled Trades Centre in Brampton
Sheridan's Electrical Techniques program courses are now held at the Skilled Trades Centre at Davis Campus in Brampton, Ontario.
The new facilities integrate students into the Davis Campus environment, which includes larger workshops, classrooms, improved services such as food outlets and an on-campus residence.
