Computer Animation

Launch your career in high-end 3D computer animation.

Sheridan’s is the only Computer Animation program in Ontario that offers a pathway to earning your Masters degree abroad.

More than an animation school

Sheridan's world-renowned Computer Animation program has been stocking Hollywood with talent since the 1980s. We were the first animation school to begin teaching computer animation. At Sheridan you'll learn to communicate, using computer animation as your instrument.

Intensive hands-on training

Over eight months you’ll work with the same high-end 3D computer animation software, technology and techniques the professionals use — but you’ll also learn:

  • Animation principles and practices
  • Story structure
  • Character development
  • Character performance
  • Directing
  • Cinematography

Earn your Masters in 3D Animation and study abroad

Sheridan has an arrangement with the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art and Design (IADT) in Ireland. Graduates of Sheridan’s Computer Animation post-grad certificate program from 2009 or later can apply to IADT to earn their Masters degree in 15 weeks. Please read the Masters degree tab for details.

A studio on campus

Sheridan's instructors are industry veterans who helped pioneer today's computer animation methods and tools. You'll work in a professional environment in the Sheridan Centre for Animation and Emerging Technologies (SCAET), surrounded by talented classmates and led by the best instructors. It's no wonder that Sheridan stands alone among computer animation schools.
