Business Administration – Marketing

Gain the skills you need to excel in fast-paced marketing organizations.

Sheridan’s Business Administration – Marketing program prepares you for an exciting career in marketing, advertising, promotion or sales.

Exceptional educators, innovative learning

Each professor in Sheridan’s Business Administration – Marketing program is not only an outstanding educator, but also an experienced businessperson who knows what it’s like to work in the real world. These talented professors use highly creative means to teach, and will provide you with the tools you need to learn all aspects of marketing and excel in your business career.

Things you'll do and learn

  • Write marketing plans that analyze the unique situation a firm faces, and make recommendations on actions to keep the organization competitive.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and advertising plans.
  • Meet the needs of the changing marketing environment by using digital marketing tools within a strategic business context.

Mobile computing gives flexibility

You'll use your laptop and industry-leading software to conduct research, create presentations and develop marketing collateral. Equipped with your own copy of the software and access to the college's extensive resources, you can complete your projects and assignments at school or at home.

In this program, you’ll also:

  • Learn innovative marketing research techniques.
  • Learn the basic principles of customer relationship management along with a broad range of strategies.
  • Get prepared for the challenges of global marketing.
  • Apply basic skills in marketing graphics to generate support materials such as brochures, newsletters and web page updates.
  • Develop, plan and execute a college-wide event for charity.

Co-op Opportunity

If you’re a three-year Marketing advanced diploma student, you can add valuable work experience to your resumé through cooperative education. You’ll spend your final two years in the program alternating between school and work, applying what you're learning in class to the workplace.

With co-op, you'll graduate with relevant marketing work experience! This is a competitive process, and you'll need to meet certain criteria in order to qualify to participate.

Earn your Professional Sales Certificate

Sheridan's Pilon School of Business marketing students have the ability to earn a professional certificate from the Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA). Students in the marketing diploma program who complete six core courses that align with the CPSA Skills and Knowledge Competencies will be eligible to apply for the Professional Sales Certificate from the CPSA.

Extracurricular involvement

The Sheridan Marketing experience extends beyond the classroom. Students have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of extracurricular activities and student-run organizations such as Sheridan Marketing Committee, Business Council and Sheridan Student Union. Sheridan Marketing students also have the opportunity to represent the college at the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition and the BDC Case Challenge (Canada-wide).
